Jeep Page This page is for displaying photographs of my two Jeeps, and Jeep-related information. My first Jeep was a 1983 CJ-7. It had a 258 c.i. straight six engine, five-speed transmission, and a hard top. It had 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler R/T 's on it, with a very aggressive tread pattern. Those tires were so loud traveling down the highway that you had to shout just to be heard. Here are a few pictures of that Jeep taken during the summer of 1988: That is my dog Theo in the back. He was my usual riding companion.
This is my girlfriend, Arleen. She will become my wife one day! My mom is also in the picture. By the looks of Mom's hair, we must have just come back from a top-down cruise!
**The front driveshaft on this Jeep had been custom-made from a piece of cheap steel tubing, with the universal joints not squarely-welded on the ends of it. For that reason, I never did much off-roading in this vehicle. I saw this Jeep six months after I had sold it. It had experienced an engine fire, because the hood had a telltale burnt spot. The guy I sold it to surely loved driving it, though. My second Jeep was a 1985 CJ-7. when I bought this Jeep the only top on it was of the fastback type. I quickly converted that to a full soft top. It was also equipped with a 258 c.i. straight six engine and 33" Wrangler R/T 's. I drove the '85 Jeep for 5 years, from April, 1989 to April 1994. I did most of my off-roading in this Jeep, with my Chesapeake Bay retriever riding shotgun. Here are pictures of the 1985 Jeep: This was a great Jeep. I drove it Everywhere. I once crossed a stream in it that was so deep the water was flowing through the interior, under the seats! It was good thing that I kept the engine going, or the wet distributor would not have let me restart. Another day this Jeep was so filthy you couldn't tell what color it was.
The Jeep is shown with the bikini top here.
Once Theo and I found ourselves very deep in the underbrush...
and he could not figure out what I was doing in order to take his picture!
